Summer Makeup

Summer is here which means it’s time to switch up the makeup! Summer makeup is all about achieving that effortless, radiant glow while ensuring your look stays fresh and lightweight throughout the day while its hot hot hot! Here are some of my tips for achieving the perfect summer glow:

Prep and Prime Skin prep is KEY. Especially when you’re outside in the summer sun you need to start with a good base. I would suggest using a light-weight moisturizer with SPF. And to keep your makeup on all day you need a good primer. I just got THIS one and I LOVE! It helps lock in my makeup all day even when it’s 105 degrees here in AZ.

Less is More Summer is the time to embrace a more natural look. Swap out your full-coverage foundation for a tinted moisturizer or a sheer foundation that evens out your skin but provide a full coverage. However, if you need some extra coverage, I always like to go in with some concealer to hide any blemishes and to brighten up the under eyes. The light coverage foundation or skin tint and concealer combo will be your best friend this summer.

Bronzed and Beautiful We all want to achieve that sun-kissed glow, so bronzing drops and bronzer is your best friend. I like to add bronzing drops to my skin tint foundation to give that natural looking glow. Then go in with your powdered bronzer and lightly dust on the high points of your face where the sun naturally hits like your forehead, tip or nose, cheekbones and around your jawline.

Bright and Breezy Eyes Keep your eye makeup light and airy. Going back to the less is more tip & bronzing tip — scratch the eyeshadow and use a little bit of your bronzer in the outer creases/corners of your eye to add a little bit of color. You want it to look as natural as possible and since we’re going for the natural glow look, bronzer is the perfect summer eyeshadow! Also, try adding a nude liner to your bottom waterline to brighten and open up your eyes!

Happy & Hydrated Lips Hydration is key for summer lips. Find a liner that is as close to your natural lip color and then grab an spf balm or lightly tinted balm for a low maintenance natural look!

Set for Success Don’t skip this step!!! To ensure your makeup lasts all day, finish with a setting spray designed to lock in your look. Once you set everything then go in with a setting powder to really lock it in. I use a translucent powder and pat the areas where I typically see shine the most (t-zone).

I hope these makeup tips help when you go to do your next summer makeup look! You’ll skin will be glowing and your makeup will last all day in the summer heat! I also linked all of my favorite summer skincare and makeup below!

Happy summer!
